Much as it is difficult for us to come to terms with this profound loss especially as we were preparing to exchange pleasantries on that faithful 25th December, little did we know that God Almighty had already set an agenda of grand welcoming with you. Dada Elizabeth, we didn't see this coming. Our hearts break, but we certainly do not despair because that is not what you would have us do. Allowing us wallow in self-pity is the least you would expect from us.
We give glory to God for blessing us with a wonderful mother. Today, we stand here, surrounded by families, friends, neighbors, and all who had the privilege of knowing her, to celebrate the remarkable life of Dada Elizabeth.
Dada as we affectionately call you, was more than just a mother; she was the foundation of our lives. She raised us to be God-fearing individuals, instilling in us the values of honesty, kindness, integrity and to be content with whatever comes our way. In times of trouble, we always ran to her for shelter and comfort. She was our confidante, counselor, and advisor, always ready with wise words and a listening ear. She was dedicated
towards our education and whatever each and every one of us aspired for. She did everything within her power to ensure that we understood the importance of learning and self-improvement opting for the best. Our mother's generosity knew no bounds. Her acts of kindness and giving were legendary and she took immense joy in showering gifts on us and her grandchildren whenever they visit. This legacy of love and generosity will forever be etched in our hearts.
Dada Elizabeth's kind-hearted nature extended beyond our family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, opening her heart and home to anyone who approached her with their challenges. We grew up sharing our mother with many others, witnessing firsthand the profound impact of her boundless generosity and love on the community.
We still remember the day a call came from one of your grandchildren that faithful Tuesday afternoon that you have disappeared from the house. We remember the search that followed in all corners of Texpo, Adegono, Nungua and its environs for three continuous days. We still remember the Television and Radio announcements on your disappearance until we received a call from Kute-Buem that you had arrived there. We still remember our worries of what we were going to tell your kinsmen. We still remember your deepest regret of putting us through all the stress. We still remember and will forever remember you marking 25th December more memorable than before for choosing it as your day of departure.
We pray that your spirit of love and unity ignite and remain amongst your Children, Grandchildren and Greatgrandchildren
We are grateful for the precious moments we shared, the lessons we learned, and the love we received. Though your departure leaves a void ni our hearts, we find solace ni knowing that you are at peace, embraced by the eternal love of God.
As we honor your memory, we lift our voices in praise:
With one voice, Rest ni peace, dear mother. Your love, wisdom, and generosity wil continue to guide us and inspire al who knew you.
AMEN
"Indeed, the Lord wil comfort Zion; He wil comfort al her waste places. And her wilderness He wil make like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness wil be found in her, Thanksgiving and sound of a melody. (Isaiah 51:3)"
We are heartbroken and still struggling to come to terms with your sudden departure without saying goodbye on that faithful 25th December as we were preparing to come and celebrate Christmas with you and share our usual jokes. You have really left
us with deep sorrow and emptiness. But who are we to question God, the one who gives life and also takes same?
You were a kind, loving, thoughtful and wise
woman who treated everyone with respect and kindness. To us your grandchildren, you were more than a grandmother. You were a teacher, a guide, a friend and source of support in our lives.
You showed us the way with your warm and compassionate hand as we grew up.
We are heartbroken that you are gone forever, but we also know that you are in a better place. We will always remember you as a vibrant and lively person and your
memory will inspire and help us in times of trouble.
You taught us many values and how to opt for the best in life. Being very particular about the food you eat and your drinking water makes us woke up very early in the morning to Kute Dzigbe to fetch your drinking water. This affirms your believe in the adage "he who goes early to the river side fetches the cleanest water".
We also learnt your excellent customer service of offering chair and water to all customers from far and near who visited your shed.
We are very grateful for all the beautiful gifts you bought for us whenever you returned from Accra, Badu and other places. We cherish and will forever remember all the periods we spent together in Kute, Kpele-Tutu and Accra.
Though we could not meet to say good- bye, we are very confident of meeting again on the second coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
We leave you with this parting song;
Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.
Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus-this is rest.
Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round? On Jesus' bosom naught but calm is found.
Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away? In Jesus' keeping we are safe, and they.
Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown? Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.
Rest in peace, we will always miss you.
